The award honours three young academics who have made a particularly valuable research contribution in relation to the fundamental academic values in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
Fundamental academic values are an essential part of the EHEA. They include academic freedom and integrity, institutional autonomy, participation of students and staff in higher education governance and public responsibility for and of higher education. The responsible ministers of the EHEA member states reaffirmed the relevance of promoting the values of all EHEA member states at the Bologna Conference in Rome in 2020.
The call is open to young researchers from all disciplines and of all nationalities and is endowed with a total of 18000 EUR, financed by the BMBF as part of the "bologna hub" project. Applications must be based on a scientific publication that clearly relates to the fundamental values of higher education.
Admissible candidates are graduates holding a master’s or doctoral degree whose completion should date back a maximum of five years (extensions due to exceptional circumstances are appliable). The call is open to scientists of all academic fields and all nationalities.
