KAZMEMST Komitee für technische Regulierung und Metrologie - Kasachstan

Regierungseinrichtungen

Work in the field of standardization in the Republic of Kazakhstan started in 1932 and remained, until 1992, within the framework of the State standardization system of the USSR. The former republics of the USSR then created an economic union known as the Community of Independent States. In 1993, the independent and sovereign Republic of Kazakhstan adopted laws on standardization and certification and on unity of measurement, which defined the further development of the standardization system in the country.

Today, technical policy in the field of standardization is under the responsibility of the Committee for Technical regulation and metrology (KAZMEMST), with a regular budget. Together with national ministries and departments, KAZMEMST establishes technical committees to develop standards in different fields of industry, including environmental standards.

In addition, KAZMEMST:

  • approves national standards under the abbreviation CTPK (National Standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan);
  • defines a list of products for mandatory certification; and
  • defines and develops rules for product certification, laboratory accreditation and type approval of means of measurement.
