The Standards Institution of Israel (SII) is the national standardization body of Israel and has been the national leader on quality since its establishment in 1923. The institution is a Public, non-profit, Statutory Organization empowered by the Standards Law 1953, and publicly governed by representatives of organizations playing a major part in the national economy.

The Institution is a founding member of ISO and has always been an active member, representing Israel in all international and regional standardization work. It operates in three main areas - Standardization, Testing and Certification - and enhances research and development activities in those areas.

SII operates in close cooperation with Ministries, Governmental Agencies, industry, services, consumers and the academic community, and offers its services nationwide as well as worldwide. It provides technical assistance, consultancy and training services in the areas relevant to its core functions. In addition, the Institution serves as a leading catalyst in all national activities enhancing quality and Excellence, and is a major contributor to the general acceptance of Israeli products in the global market.
