Deadline: 08.09.2024 Research stays

The Junior Experts Exchange Programme (‘JEX’) is an approximately one-week programme that aims to introduce young Japanese and German scientists, including engineers, to research in Germany and Japan, to stimulate interest in the research landscape of the other country, and to build a sustainable international network. Each year, the sponsoring institutions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), select a new focus area. This year's focus is on robotics.

This program targets young Japanese and German experts in natural sciences from public research institutions and private companies with an interest in German-Japanese research cooperation.
Tailor-made visits to thematically suitable research / university institutes and companies in the other country will give the opportunity to establish contacts with a potential for future research cooperation.

Applicants should have completed their studies (Master's degree or higher) and be no older than 40 years of age. Fluency in English is a prerequisite for participation in the programme.

The programme will take place in Germany from 7 to 15 December 2024.

The application documents (all in English) must be sent by e-mail by 8 September 2024.
