In 2005, the German Federal Immigration Act mandated the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees to conduct scientific research on migration and integration. This laid the foundation for today's Migration, Integration and Asylum Research Centre at the Federal Office. More than 50 employees currently work at the BAMF-FZ, which includes a Research Data Centre (BAMF-FDZ) since 2021.

The deadline for submission is 31. July 2025. Entries will be selected by 30. September 2025. Information about the anniversary event, including registration, will be made available in autumn 2025.
