The 2019 German Forum for Academic Freedom will be spearheaded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in partnership with the following German research funding and research performing organisations: the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (FhG), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Council of Science and Humanities (WR), the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK), the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres (HGF), the Leibniz Association (WGL), and the Max Planck Society (MPG).
The Forum provides an opportunity for threatened researchers, host institutions, funding organisations, and partners in Germany and abroad to discuss current issues and strategies related to academic freedom. In particular, the above-mentioned organisations will join forces to highlight career perspectives of threatened scholars.
