German-Russian Forum Biotechnology at BIOTECHNICA 2011

Duration: 10.10.2011 City: Hannover Country: Germany

The German-Russian collaboration, especially in the field of science and research, has a long tradition and is an inherent part of bilateral relations between the countries. Both governments place a great value on the consolidation and continuing development of their relation, supported by the already signed government declaration over the strategic partnership between Germany and Russia.

From October 11 to 13, 2011 the largest European trade show for Biotechnology – BIOTECHNICA – will take place in Hannover. In this context the East-West-Science Center Hessen (OWWZ), University of Kassel (Coordinator of the German-Russian Cooperation Network Biotechnology) together with Deutsche Messe Hannover and the National Contact Point of Russia for Biotechnology, Agriculture and Food organizes a German-Russian Forum Biotechnology (10 October). The Forum will focus on the following topics:

  • Industrial & Environmental Biotechnology
  • AgriFood Biotechnology
  • Medical Biotechnology
  • Bioinformatics
  • Biorefineries

On the one hand the forum`s goal is to present the scientific landscape of Germany and Russia to the auditorium and on the other hand it should initiate, deepen, strengthen and enhance contacts between German and Russian biotechnology companies, research institutions and decision makers in policy and administrations.

The event will be free of charge but registration is required. On October 11 the Russian participants are invited to join a Guided Tour to selected companies and institutions like:

  • Cluster Integrated Biotechnology (Cib)
  • Cluster Biotechnology North Rhine-Westphalia (BioNRW)
  • Niedersachsen Global GmbH (NGlobal)
  • Cluster Industrial Biotechnology (CLIB2021)
  • Association of German Biotechnology Companies (VBU) a.o. organized by the Zenit GmbH.
