Joint Bavarian-Russian Conference „Chemistry meets Biomedicine“

Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) and the Bavarian Academic Center for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (BAYHOST) are organizing a Bavarian-Russian Conference “Chemistry meets Biomedicine” on the 28th of September in Erlangen.

The goal of the meeting is to enhance Bavarian-Russian scientific relations at the chemistry-biomedicine interface devoted to basic research and development of breakthrough technologies.

It is possible to participate with a lecture or as a visitor. The conference is open to researchers from further countries as well. The maximum number of participants is 50.

Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech)

Skoltech is located in the innovation and technology ecosystem Skolkovo near Moscow. It is a private graduate research institute that was established in 2011 in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Skoltech puts particular emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation.

Several Centers for Research, Education and Innovation (CREIs) address Critical Challenges in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Life Sciences and Biomedicine, Cutting-edge Engineering & Advanced Materials, Energy Efficiency, Quantum Technologies, and Advanced Studies. They are the key building blocks in the effort to develop a graduate university that combines education, research and innovation seamlessly. Skoltech offers master’s programs and PhD programs in English language in these areas. Stipends are available.

Apart from MIT, Moscow State University, Waseda University (Tokyo), Technical University of Munich (TUM) and many other universities and research centers, many companies like Siemens, SAP, Boeing, Microsoft, AstraZeneca, Cisco, IBM and Nokia are among the international partners of Skoltech.

Skoltech is interested in increasing the exchange of students and academics as well as research cooperation with partner institutions in Germany.
