The hackathon aims to identify young scientific talent, attract future doctoral candidates, and help build a pool of AI professionals for Europe. Planned as a recurring event, it strengthens Europe’s position as a leading region for innovation in cybersecurity and AI. The Championship also seeks to raise awareness of the need for trustworthy AI while fostering interest in AI research, development, and security.
The event will feature five regional 24-hour hackathons in cities including Paris, Vienna, Stockholm, Warsaw, and Barcelona, culminating in a grand finale in St. Ingbert, Germany, the future home of CISPA. Students aged 18 and above, enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s programs, are invited to showcase their skills. Participants compete in teams of four, tackling three technical challenges at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI. These challenges were developed by researchers from the CISPA faculty. The best teams present their solutions to expert juries, with the winners advancing to the finale.
Winning teams from each regional round will receive certificates and funding to attend the grand finale in Germany, including travel and accommodation. A total of 12.000 EUR in prize money will be awarded to the top teams, with the overall winners receiving 4.000 EUR and trophies. Additional finalists will also be recognized with cash prizes, certificates, and official acknowledgment.
Registration for the regional hackathons is now open.
