Informationdays AUS-ACCESS4EU: "Supporting EU Access to Australian Research Programmes"

The work plan of AUS-ACCESS4EU puts the objective of the FP 7 Capacities Work Programme "Supporting the EU access to third countries programmes (FP-INCO-2009-5) to help to develop the reciprocity aspects of the S&T agreement by identifying programmes open to EU researchers and promote their participation" into practise.

The overall objective of the AUS-ACCESS4EU project is to increase S&T cooperation between the EU and Australia by identifying access opportunities for European researchers in Australian research capabilities and programmes and by widely disseminating this information to the European research community.

AUS-ACCESS4EU will be launched at a series of information days in European cities in November 2010:

London
8 November 2010 13:00-17:30
Venue: British Council, 10 Spring Gardens, London SW1A 2BN

Paris
9 November 2010 13:00-17:30
Venue: British Council, 9 rue de Constantine, 75007 Paris

Bonn
11 November 2010 13:00-17:30
Venue: Museum Koenig, Adenauerallee 160, 53113 Bonn

These events present an excellent opportunity for members of the European research community to learn about current opportunities for European-Australian research collaboration through Australian-funded research funding schemes. The relatively recent opening up of the major Australian Research Council’s competitive grant programmes and the CSIRO Flagship Fund initiatives means that there are now greater opportunities for European researchers to participate in Australian research programmes.

Leading members of the Australian Research Council (ARC) and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) have agreed to speak at this event. Participants will have the opportunity to meet them and will come away with a greater understanding of Australia’s distinct research strengths and resources as well as existing EU-Australian collaborations.
