Summer Academy 2010 at the University of Koblenz-Landau

The Faculty of Computer Science of the University of Koblenz-Landau, Campus Koblenz in Germany has opened its doors to the annual Summer Academy for more than 50 participants from 13 countries as Ghana, Great Britain, India, and Morocco.

During four weeks from June 21st to July 16th the participants are attending courses in English based on current research topics in the specialised areas of management, information systems and web science.

The program enables students to gain and exchange expert knowledge in their fields of interest and combines it with the opportunity to build up a multicultural network with like-minded academics.

There is a total of 15 courses in the program. For the first time there are new subjects included, such as enterprise architecture, integrated business design, agent based simulation and the innovative workshop on entrepreneurial design thinking.

In order to give the students a deeper insight on the functionality of the European Union, the Summer Academy organized a three day trip to the European Parliament and Commission in Brussels. Students received practical information about the policies and the budget of the European Union, as well as the working principles of the European Parliament (see picture).

Students who are attending the Summer Academy gain knowledge and social competencies in a multicultural environment and get to know the German culture.
