ICONTEC Kolumbianisches Institut für technische Normung und Zertifizierung

L'Instituto Colombiano de Normas Técnicas y Certificación (ICONTEC) is a private, non-profit organization. Since 1984, it has been recognized by the Colombian Government as the National Standardization Body and representative of the country to the various international and regional standard organizations.
 
The main activity of ICONTEC is the study, adoption and promotion of technical standards in the different economic and social activities related to the private and governmental sectors in the country. There are 42 different areas of standardization specified and some 162 active technical committees.
 
ICONTEC is also involved in quality assurance. It is the largest body for certification of management systems and products in the country, and provides certification to ISO 9001, 14001, 22000, OHSAS 18001 standards among others. In addition, education and training in quality systems and standardization is a major area of work. ICONTEC runs five metrology labs that provide calibration services to industry.
