ASEAN-EU Konferenz zu Wissenschaft, Technologie und Innovation

Zeitraum: 12.12.2012 Ort: Brüssel Land: Belgien

ASEAN-EU cooperation in Science, Technology & Innovation

Science and Technology are the necessities for creating an innovative, knowledge-based society and economic prosperity. This need was recognized by both EU and ASEAN regions when a bi-regional dialogue between the regions has been established. This dialogue eventually led to the organization of the ASEAN-EU Year of Science, Technology and Innovation 2012 that consisted of over 40 events in over 10 Southeast Asian and European Countries.

During the Final Event of the Year of Science, Technology and Innovation we would like to discuss the next steps in the inter-regional dialogue on research cooperation. Where can we go from now on? Which measures during the last year had been the most promising? Where is room to improve? High Level Policy Makers from EU and ASEAN as well as researchers, research managers and members of key research institutions will discuss, how we can create the highest synergies in ST&I between the EU and the ASEAN region. To highlight the importance of researcher mobility this final event will also showcase Marie-Curie Fellows and their work from ASEAN countries to share their perspectives and experiences in EU-ASEAN ST&I cooperation.

It is our pleasure to invite you to the Year of Science, Technology and Innovation 2012 Final Event “ASEAN-EU cooperation in Science, Technology & Innovation”.
This meeting will be facilitated by the SEA-EU-Net project.

Science, Technology and Innovation are topics of interest to all countries which naturally implies that there is the chance and also the need to work together in these areas. The SEA-EU-Net tries to bridge the gaps of nation states by establishing an arena of exchange between the Europe and Southeast Asia and by this, creating synergies through international cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation.

The conference will be held on December 12th 2012 in Brussels.

The primary objective of the meeting is to bring scientific experts and policymakers together to facilitate exchange of views on the outcomes and benefits of research activities both in EU and SEA regions and discuss topics of future collaborative research.
The event will take place in the rooms of the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the European Union.
