Die Stiftung Mercator nimmt ab sofort Bewerbungen für die zweite Zukunftsbrücke: Chinese-German Young Professional Campus entgegen. Bewerben können sich deutsche und chinesische Nachwuchsführungskräfte im Alter zwischen 28 und 38 Jahren. Das Programm findet vom 30. Mai bis 8. Juni 2013 in Essen und Berlin zum Thema “Social Dimensions of Sustainable Development” statt. Bewerbungsschluss ist der 6. Januar 2013.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS 中德未来之桥 – 2013青年领导者交流营 ZUKUNFTSBRÜCKE: CHINESE-GERMAN YOUNG PROFESSIONAL CAMPUS SOCIAL DIMENSIONS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT MAY 30 – JUNE 8, 2013, BERLIN AND ESSEN

The Zukunftsbrücke: Chinese-German Young Professional Campus is an annual forum bringing together outstanding Chinese and German young professionals to work on pressing global issues concerning both countries. In 2013 the Campus will take place from May 30 to June 8, 2013 in Berlin and Essen, Germany (arrival May 29, departure June 9). The Campus’ topic in 2013 is „Social Dimensions of Sustainable Development”. Young professionals from all professional backgrounds are invited to apply for the programme. Deadline for applications is January 6, 2013.

The Zukunftsbrücke is a project by Stiftung Mercator in cooperation with the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF), Peking University and Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi). The programme aims at developing a strong and lasting network of professionals from China and Germany and fostering mutual understanding among both countries’ future leaders. 30 young professionals from the public, private, media, academic and non-profit sector, 15 from Germany and 15 from China, will get the unique chance to join the Campus as participants to work on one of the defining political, economic and social challenges of our time. In discussions and debates with renowned guests and speakers from both countries, as well as in intensive group work sessions and joint cultural activities, the participants will get the opportunity to discover and deliberate commonalities and differences. Together, they will develop a vision of future collaboration between China and Germany and contribute to the future of Chinese-German relations. Application requirements

  • At least two years of professional experience within the public, private, media, academic or non-profit sector
  • Outstanding professional and academic record as well as extracurricular activities
  • Chinese or German citizenship
  • Age range: 28 to 38 years
  • Minimum graduate degree: University degree or equivalent
  • Very good command of the English language
  • Strong interest in the issue of sustainable development as well as in Chinese-German relations

Knowledge of Chinese or German as a foreign language is an asset but not a prerequisite. Applicants from all professional and academic backgrounds are welcome. Professional experience with the Campus’ topic or with China/Germany is no precondition, although informed interest is expected.

Short-listed candidates will be invited for a personal interview in Berlin/Essen. For candidates not based in Germany we offer to conduct the interview via phone. Accepted participants will be reimbursed for all programme related expenses, including travel costs to/within Germany (economy/coach class). Room and board will be provided. Alumni of the 2013 Campus will be invited for an alumni meeting during the Campus 2014 in China. We look forward to your application.
