The Knowledge and Innovation Communities of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) are partnerships that bring together businesses, research centres and universities. They allow:
- innovative products and services to be developed in every area imaginable, including climate change, healthy living and active ageing,
- new companies to be started,
- a new generation of entrepreneurs to be trained.
EIT Climate is a Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC), working to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy.
Supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, EIT Climate identifies and supports innovation that helps society mitigate and adapt to climate change. EIT Climate believes that a decarbonised, sustainable economy is not only necessary to prevent catastrophic climate change, but presents a wealth of opportunities for business and society.
EIT Climate is an institutionalised Partnership under Horizon Europe.
