The India AI Impact Summit 2026, announced by Indias Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the France AI Action Summit and scheduled for February 19–20 in New Delhi, will be the first-ever global AI summit hosted in the Global South. The summit aims to bring together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss the role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping society. The summit focuses on practical applications, opportunities, and challenges of AI, with special attention to inclusive growth and sustainable development.
The India AI Summit will be anchored in "Three Sutras" (Guiding Principles):
- People: AI should support human progress, respect cultural diversity, and ensure inclusion. Technology must remain human-centered, prioritizing safety, trust, and shared benefit
- Planet: AI should drive responsible innovation, reduce resource consumption, and promote climate resilience and environmental protection. Progress must align with sustainability.
- Progress: AI is seen as a driver for inclusive growth, supporting global development goals and equitable access to opportunities. Democratizing AI resources and applying AI across sectors like health, education, governance, and agriculture are key priorities.
The following "Seven Chakras" represent focused domains of international collaboration that translate the broader principles of People, Planet, and Progress into concrete areas of action:
- Human Capital
- Inclusion for Social Empowerment
- Safe and Trusted AI
