Heralding a new era in Indo-German Research and Technology partnership, the German Government, Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (Federal Ministry of Education and Research/BMBF) had embarked on a major Research and Technology initiative with India for the period 2008 / 2010.This programme for the Indo- German corridor is being implemented under the aegis of the larger Initiative - Research in Germany - Land of Ideas- and aims to intensify co-operation in strategically important areas and initiate joint projects between India and Germany. It is also looking at a bilateral exchange of the best international experts for joint R&D activities. Building new international networks of competence clusters and increasing the contract research of German research institutions on the global market are the other key objectives.
The Inaugural Event in September 2008 in New Delhi was launched by the Honorable Federal Minister for Education and Research, Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr Annette Schavan and the Honorable Minister of Science and Technology, Government of India, Mr. Kapil Sibal in the presence of over 400 key people from the Indian and German ministries, research institutions and industry. We would now like to invite you to the following events in March. First is the Indo German Innovation Platform which is part of the EmTech 2010 on the 8th and the 9th of March. The 8th of March will consist of presentations in the field of Life Sciences and the 9th of March will be dedicated to the field of Environmental Technology.
