The Policy Talk "(How) can African-European science diplomacy promote equitable partnerships?" will facilitate a discussion on the potential of science diplomacy to foster equitable partnerships in higher education. It will also highlight emerging, practice-oriented initiatives, including the "AU–EU Innovation Agenda", the "Africa Charter for Transformative Research Collaborations" and the "German Commission for UNESCO's position paper on equitable scientific cooperation".
By bringing together experts from policy and academia from both continents, the discussion will assess how science diplomacy can underpin a rules-based multilateralism, as well as practical approaches and experiences in African-European higher education cooperation.
The event is organised by the Centre for International Academic Cooperation (KIWi) of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Berlin University Alliance (BUA).
