Euro-CASE: Herausforderungen für europäische wissenschafts- und technologiegetriebene Innovationen

A working group of the European Council of Academies of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering (Euro-CASE) was set up to identify opportunities to better link research to technological innovation in Europe for the post-Covid period. The results was presented in the report "Challenges for European Science and Technology Driven Innovation in Europe". One of the main findings is that Europe must make further efforts to transfer science into technology, innovation and business. This report identifies some of Europe's challenges in this respect, and recommends new initiatives to improve science and technology driven innovation in Europe.

  • Chapter 2 analyzes the organizations that the EU has set up to foster applied research, innovation and the commercial exploitation of research and innovations.

  • Chapter 4 addresses European Universities as an important element of the innovation infrastructure of any modern economy.
  • Chapter 5 analyses current trends in the US and China.
  • Chapter 6 addresses the Evolutions in Basic and Technological Research Organization among recent members of the EU using the examples of Croatia and Poland.
